Omega watches come with a serial number that gives you information on its year of production. An Omega serial number is a unique seven or eight-digit number which is etched into the watch, most of the times into the movement, when it’s produced. For this reason it is sometimes called the movement number.
The serial number can help you verify the authenticity of the watch and even if it’s stolen. Note: you can also use this guide to find more information to help you determine if your watch is real or fake. However, there are more aspects that you need to consider to be certain of its authenticity.
In this article we’ll list all Omega serial numbers first, so when you want to quickly search for the year your Omega watch was produced in you don’t have to scroll all the way down. Please note: the Omega Speedmaster series used a different serial number of its own which is listed right under the “normal” Omega serial numbers.

Where can you find the Omega serial number?
So, you have an Omega watch that you would like to get some more information on. You decided to check in what year it was produced and you know it has to do with the Omega serial number, but where can you find this serial number?
The easiest way to find your Omega serial number is to look at the official certificate of your watch. All Omega watches come with a certificate, and on that, you’ll be able to read the serial number of your Omega watch.
Another way to find the Omega serial number is to look at the back of your watch case. On newer Omega models it might be engraved on your watch. This might be helpful if you don’t have the Omega certificate anymore. The Omega serial number is usually located on the case-back of the watch. Sometimes it is so small that you will have to look very closely to find it.
If your Omega watch is a little older and you can’t find the serial number on the case-back or the certificate is not present anymore, you have to look at the inside of the watch. The serial number will most likely be present on the watch movement. It should be clearly visible when you open the watch.
Don’t confuse the serial number with the Omega reference number; this is located at the inside of the case-back and will help you identify more information about your Omega watch.
